TNAU Holds Entrance Exam for Master's and Doctoral Programs in Coimbatore

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in Coimbatore conducted entrance exams for master's and doctoral programs across various disciplines. Candidates from multiple states participated, with the exams held recently.


Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) conducted entrance examinations for master’s and doctoral programs on Sunday, drawing candidates from across India. The exams were held for 33 master's disciplines and 28 doctoral disciplines including Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Forestry, and Community Sciences.

This year, the university received applications from 2,330 candidates for master's programs and 380 for doctoral programs. The application process for these programs was made available online starting May 7, 2024.

Candidates from diverse states such as Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Assam, Telangana, Puducherry, and Tamil Nadu appeared for the entrance examinations. More than 100 faculty members along with 50 administrative staff were engaged in handling the logistics of the examination.

The Vice-Chancellor, V. Geethalakshmi, highlighted the innovative use of QR codes linked with Google Maps to assist in locating various examination halls. This feature was reportedly well received by both candidates and their parents.

Selected candidates are expected to commence their studies in M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs from September 2024, opening new avenues for advanced education and research at TNAU.
