School Teacher Killed in Road Accident in Coimbatore

A 45-year-old school teacher named Anitha was tragically killed in a road accident when a truck ran over her at Ukkadam, Coimbatore on Wednesday morning.


Coimbatore: Tragic news emerged from Ukkadam, Coimbatore, where a 45-year-old school teacher, identified as Anitha from Rathinapuri, lost her life in a horrific road accident. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning near the fuel station of the Lorry Owners Association.

Anitha, who taught at a private school in Kuniamuthur, was commuting on her two-wheeler when a truck attempting to overtake grazed the right side of her scooter. Surveillance footage from a road-facing camera captured the moment the lorry came into contact with Anitha's two-wheeler, causing her to lose balance and fall under its rear wheels. She died instantly as the truck's wheels ran over her.

The Traffic Investigation Wing of Coimbatore West was quick to arrive at the scene after receiving reports from the public. They transported the body to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination. Following the investigation, the truck driver, identified as Kalaiselvan, 45, from Podanur, was arrested and a case has been registered against him.
