Marxist Communist Party Demonstrates in Coimbatore Against Illicit Liquor Deaths

On June 25, Coimbatore witnessed a protest led by the Marxist Communist Party condemning the deaths caused by illicit liquor. The event took place in Sivananda Colony, Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore district committee of the Marxist Communist Party organized a protest on June 25 to condemn the recent deaths due to illicit liquor consumption in Kallakurichi. The protest took place in Sivananda Colony and was led by district committee member Aaruchamy.




District committee member K.S. Kanagaraj presided over the rally, while U.K. Sivagnanam and district secretary C. Padmanabhan delivered speeches highlighting the dangers of illicit liquor and urged for a complete eradication of drug trafficking including homemade liquors. The protest saw the participation of over a hundred party administrators and volunteers, raising slogans and demanding action against the illicit liquor and drug activities in the region.
