Four Arrested in Coimbatore with Weapons, Suspected of Murder Plot

On June 24, Coimbatore police detained four individuals during a vehicle check near Muthannan Lake, suspected of plotting a murder and possessing illegal firearms.



Coimbatore: Four individuals were apprehended by the Coimbatore police during a vehicle checkpoint operation near Muthannan Lake, Sokkampudur on June 24. The suspects attempted to flee upon seeing the police but were quickly chased down and captured.

During the subsequent investigation, the individuals were identified as Sanjay Kumar (24) from Selvapuram North Housing Unit, Jalaludeen (50) from Teetipalayam, Saravanakumar (40) from Idaiyar Palayam, and Shalpulkhan (40) from Selvapuram. Police discovered an unloaded gun with Sanjay Kumar.



The initial inquiry revealed that all four were members of the notorious gang led by rowdy Sanjay Raja. They were reportedly en route to commit a murder. Along with the weapon, the police seized knives and two motorcycles from the suspects. "These individuals were apprehended with illegal weapons, and our investigation is ongoing to uncover further details of their planned activities," the police reported.
