Current Status of Dams in Coimbatore and Tirupur Districts, Detailed Water Levels and Rainfall Report

Coimbatore: The latest data on the water status of dams across Coimbatore and Tirupur districts has been released, providing a comprehensive overview of the water levels, inflow, outflow, and rainfall as of June 25, 2024.

In Coimbatore, the Solaiyar Dam reports a water level of 73.88 meters against a full capacity of 160 meters, with an inflow of 1,189.93 cubic feet per second (cusecs) and an unspecified outflow. The dam has received 33mm of rainfall. The Parambikulam Dam's water level stands at 13.74 meters of a 72-meter capacity, with an inflow of 660 cusecs and outflow of 137 cusecs, accompanied by 18mm of rainfall. The Aliyar Dam is currently at 81.50 meters out of 120 meters, with an inflow of 125 cusecs and outflow of 36 cusecs, receiving 4mm of rainfall.

Turning to Tirupur District, the Thirumurthy Dam shows a water level of 29.98 meters with a maximum capacity of 60 meters, maintaining an inflow of 3 cusecs, outflow of 28 cusecs, and minimal rainfall of 1mm. The Amaravathi Dam has a water level of 52.96 meters of its 90-meter total capacity, with a current inflow of 452 cusecs, outflow of 54 cusecs, and it has not reported significant recent rainfall.

Additional rainfall data from various locations includes 63mm at Valparai, 78mm at Upper Nirar, 37mm at Lower Nirar, and varying levels at different sites such as Manakkadavu (21mm) and Pollachi (24mm), indicating varied precipitation across the region.
