Monkey Menace in Kottaimedu, Coimbatore Leads to Public Distress

In Coimbatore, a monkey entered the Kottaimedu area, causing trouble by climbing on houses at locations like Saamiyar Pudhu Street, greatly alarming residents who now seek urgent capture and relocation by the Forest Department.



Coimbatore: The usually peaceful residential areas of Coimbatore near forests have been experiencing frequent wildlife intrusions, causing inconvenience and fear among the locals. Particularly, monkeys have been known to sporadically enter the urban zones, leaping around and creating panic.

Today, June 24, a significant incident occurred in the Kottaimedu area adjacent to Ukkadam. A monkey found its way into the locality and wreaked havoc. It climbed over the homes in Saamiyar Pudhu Street and Subramaniya Swamy Temple Street, unsettling the residents. This event has exacerbated the already growing concerns among the people regarding the safety from wildlife encroachments.

Local residents are urgently requesting the Forest Department to capture and relocate the monkey back to the forest to prevent further disturbances. This incident highlights the broader issues of wildlife management and urban safety.
