Man Dies After Being Attacked by Wild Elephant Near Thondamuthur

Rangasamy, 45, succumbed to injuries after a wild elephant attack near Puliyantoppu in Thondamuthur region, Coimbatore on June 20 around 7:30 PM.


Coimbatore: A tragic incident unfolded near Thondamuthur, as 45-year-old Rangasamy was fatally attacked by a wild elephant in the Puliyantoppu area bordering the forest. On the evening of June 20, while at the patta land near the tribal hamlet within the Attukkal region, a wild elephant unexpectedly struck him. He sustained severe injuries due to the attack. Immediate efforts by forest personnel helped transport Rangasamy to the Coimbatore Government Hospital via a 108 ambulance service. Despite receiving treatment, he passed away today due to the injuries sustained.
