Bail Plea of YouTuber Savukku Shankar Dismissed by Coimbatore Court

YouTuber Savukku Shankar's bail plea was dismissed by a Coimbatore court after his arrest under the Goondas Act for defaming police personnel.


Coimbatore: YouTuber Savukku Shankar was arrested by the Coimbatore Cyber Crime Police for allegedly defaming female police officers and other police personnel. Subsequent complaints led to his additional arrests in Theni, Trichy, and Chennai.

Shankar was detained under the Goondas Act by the Chennai Metropolitan Central Crime Branch police in connection with a registered case. The examination of his bail plea took place in the Coimbatore court on June 13. The presiding judge at the criminal justice court, Saravanababu, dismissed the bail petition filed by Shankar.
