Coimbatore Municipal Corporation Prepares for School Reopening with Key Meetings

Ahead of school reopening on June 10, 2024, Corporation Commissioner, IAS Sivaguru Prabhakaran led a meeting with principals of 83 primary and 37 middle schools in Coimbatore to discuss preparatory measures.


Coimbatore: In a proactive move planned by the Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner, IAS Sivaguru Prabhakaran, a comprehensive meeting was held today with the principals of the city’s 83 primary and 37 middle schools to ensure readiness for the upcoming school reopening on June 10, 2024. The session took place at the RS Puram Corporation Kalaiarangam.



The meeting focused on a slew of preparatory actions to be executed prior to school reopening, encompassing educational and operational enhancements. It covered the refurbishment, cleaning activities of school classrooms, compounds, surroundings, and nutrition centres. Additionally, discussions were held regarding methodologies to increase student admissions and enhance the infrastructure.

IAS Sivaguru Prabhakaran provided guidance on the necessary actions for educational functions as well as ancillary educational activities. Furthermore, ongoing construction works and school needs were reviewed to equip the educational institutions for the new academic year fully.

The convergence saw participation from Education Officer Thomas Xavier, school inspectors, and principals who collectively discussed ways to bolster educational readiness and infrastructure ahead of the impending reopening, marking a significant step in local education administration.
