Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Reviews 24-Hour Water Supply Projects in North and East Zones

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabakaran IAS inspected ongoing 24-hour water supply projects in the north and east zones, assessed chlorine levels in the water.


Coimbatore: Stepping directly into the field on June 7, 2024, Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabakaran IAS visited several areas under the north and east zones to inspect ongoing water supply projects. These projects are part of a concerted effort to enhance the quality and availability of drinking water in these regions.



During his visit, the commissioner reviewed the operations at various locations including Ward No. 20 of the northern zone, covering Ganapathy, Ramakrishnapuram, and the old MSR Tank area, as well as Ward No. 60 in the eastern zone in Varadarajapuram.



The main focus was on the chlorine content in the water to ensure safety standards are met.



The inspection was attended by Chief Engineer Anbalagan, Health Officer Dr. K. Boopathi, Assistant Commissioners Sreedevi and Kavitha, Project Engineers Karuppasamy and Murugesan, Assistant Project Engineers Hemalatha, Ezhil, Ilankovan, Nasser, Ravi Kannan, Kalyanasundaram, Chief Water Analyst Suresh, and officials from the sewage company including Gopalakrishnan and Patnaik.

The review also involved discussions with local officers about the supply of potable water to the public, ensuring that community needs are met while maintaining public health standards.
