Four Arrested for Selling Ganja in Kurumbapalayam, Coimbatore

On June 4, following a tip-off, police raided Kurumbapalayam and arrested four individuals from Madurai for possessing and selling 1.5 kg of ganja.


Coimbatore: In a determined effort to eradicate drug abuse in the region, Coimbatore's Superintendent of Police, Badrinarayanan, has been actively leading operations against narcotics trade. Based on confidential information, a raid was carried out by Kovilpalayam police near the Kurumbapalayam area today. During the investigation, four men, identified as Manimaran son of Murugan, Senthurpandi son of Muthupandi, Gopinath son of Kannan, and Shakim Hasan son of Ashraf Ali, were found to have hidden 1½ kilograms of ganja intended for sale. Further inquiries revealed that these individuals had sourced the marijuana from parts of Madurai. Consequently, they were arrested and remanded to judicial custody with the narcotics in possession.
