Coimbatore Ramps Up Security Measures for Vote Counting After Parliamentary Election

In anticipation of the national vote counting for the Parliamentary election, Coimbatore intensifies security and training exercises. Vote counting set to occur tomorrow countrywide.


Coimbatore: Following the completion of the first phase of voting on April 19 in Tamil Nadu for the 2024 Parliamentary election, security and final stage preparations are in full swing in Coimbatore. All Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used during the voting in the Coimbatore Parliamentary constituency have been securely stored at the Government College of Technology on Thadagam Road.



As the nation gears up for the vote counting scheduled for tomorrow, extensive security measures and readiness activities are being conducted. The police have been actively engaged in stringent security tasks at the Government College of Technology today, June 3. Barricades and other preventive measures have been set up to ensure that no party members or the public come within 100 meters of the counting center.

To oversee the process, 123 vote counting supervisors, 123 assistants, and 127 observers have been appointed for the Coimbatore Parliamentary constituency. Additional observers have also been appointed for the constituency to monitor the counting.
