133 Kilos of Banned Tobacco Products Seized in Sundakkamuthur, One Arrested

Police seized 133 kilos of banned tobacco products from a warehouse in Sundakkamuthur, Coimbatore, and arrested a 43-year-old man involved in the illegal trade.


Coimbourne: In a significant crackdown on the circulation of narcotics, Coimbatore Police conducted a raid at a warehouse in the Sundakkamuthur area, seizing 133 kilos of banned tobacco products. The operation was based on a tip-off about prohibited substances being stored and sold from the location.

The district surveillance team, acting on a secret information, stormed into the warehouse near Sundakkamuthur under the jurisdiction of the Perur police station on May 29. During the raid, Juhaarmal, age 43, was found to be hoarding the illicit items in his property.

The operatives apprehended Juhaarmal and confiscated tobacco products with an estimated market value of 2 lakh rupees. Following the arrest, the police detained Juhaarmal and later remanded him to judicial custody. This arrest is part of the ongoing efforts to deter the illegal narcotics trade in the region.
