A police grievance redressal camp, directed by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, was held at Coimbatore District Armed Reserve Office on May 29 to address and re-investigate unsatisfactory petitions filed by the public.

Coimbatore: Following the orders of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, a grievance redressal camp was conducted at the District Armed Reserve Office situated at the Coimbatore Police Training School premises on May 29.

This camp, dedicated to addressing and resolving the complaints raised by citizens, took place under the supervision of District Police Superintendent Badrinarayanan.

During the session, both petitioners and respondents were brought in person for the complaints to be re-investigated. The camp thoroughly examined each case, ensuring a meaningful resolution process was in place.

Concerns ranged from familial issues, financial transactions, to land disputes, culminating in a total of 79 inquiries. Among these, one complaint progressed to an FIR (First Information Report), two received CSR (Complaints Status Report), 67 were smoothly resolved, and an additional 9 were recommended for further investigation.

Superintendent Badrinaryanan mentioned that except on Wednesdays, officers from respective sub-divisional police stations would continue visiting police stations and sub-division offices throughout the week to address ongoing complaints, effectively extending the reach of this initiative beyond just a weekly occurrence.
