In Thadagam near Coimbatore, CCTV footage of a leopard taking away a chicken early morning has gone viral, alerting local residents and forest officials.

Coimbatore: The Thadagam area, adjacent to the Western Ghats in Coimbatore, often witnesses wildlife encroaching into residential zones. Recently, video clips have surfaced, showing a leopard roaming the area, creating quite a stir.

In an incident yesterday morning, a family in Somaiyanur Thiruvalluvar Nagar of Thadagam, discovered that their pet chicken, which was out near their motorbikes, was captured by a leopard.

The family reviewed CCTV footage after finding feathers in front of their house, which recorded the leopard jumping over a wall and making away with the chicken.

There's a growing expectation among the residents that forest authorities should take more proactive measures to ensure public safety against such unpredictable wildlife interactions.
