DMK District Secretary Na. Karthik Plants Saplings in Peelamedu, Coimbatore

In efforts to counteract the continuous tree cutting in Coimbatore, DMK District Secretary Na. Karthik initiated a tree planting drive around Peelamedu, particularly in Balasubramaniam Nagar on May 23.

Coimbatore: Amidst concerns over the increasing number of trees being cut down in various parts of Coimbatore, DMK District Secretary Na. Karthik has been actively planting saplings to boost the green cover. Over the past few days, he has been seen rooting young trees in and around Peelamedu.

As part of this initiative, on May 23, in Balasubramaniam Nagar, within the Peelamedu area, Karthik, along with community members and fellow party workers, took to planting multiple saplings.

The drive not only aims to enhance the local environment but also to encourage rainfall in the region, which has been grappling with deforestation issues. Afforestation efforts such as these are essential for urban areas to maintain ecological balance and urban biodiversity.
