Tree Falls on Water Truck in Coimbatore, Causes Accident During Heavy Rain

In Coimbatore, a large tree fell on a moving water truck near K.G. Theatre Bus Stop amid heavy rain, causing traffic delays. The driver and conductor suffered minor injuries.

Coimbatore:

A sudden downpour in Coimbatore this evening led to widespread waterlogging, resulting in traffic congestion across various parts of the city. Amid these conditions, a major incident occurred near the K.G. Theatre Bus Stop, where a large tree, uprooted by the heavy rains, fell directly onto a water truck that was navigating the flooded streets.

The impact of the fall severely damaged the truck and trapped the driver and conductor inside. Emergency services, including the fire department, were promptly alerted and arrived at the scene to commence rescue operations.

Firefighters worked diligently to clear the branches and safely extricated both the truck driver and the conductor, who sustained minor injuries. They were provided first aid and taken to a private hospital for further medical attention.

Following the accident, the tree was swiftly removed, and traffic reroutes were implemented around the K.G. Theatre area to facilitate the clearing operations and restore normal traffic flow.
