Following heavy rainfall in Coimbatore on May 18, floodwater surged along the road from Singanallur Bus Stand to ESI Hospital, leading to difficulties for vehicle operators, particularly two-wheeler riders.


Coimbatore: The area from Singanallur Bus Stand to the ESI Hospital in Coimbatore experienced a flood-like situation yesterday evening, May 18, following a spell of heavy rain that drenched the city. The torrential downpour resulted in the overflow of rainwater on the road, significantly disrupting traffic and partially submerging parked vehicles along the roadside.

Additionally, the sudden inundation caused considerable hardship for motorists, especially those on two-wheelers, as they struggled to navigate through the waterlogged streets. Local authorities have been notified and are assessing the situation to implement necessary measures to prevent such occurrences in the future and ensure the safety of the commuters.
