Woman Assaulted with Blade in Ramanathapuram, Coimbatore; Attacker Arrested

In Ramanathapuram, Coimbatore, a woman was attacked with a blade due to a prior enmity and sustained severe injuries. The attacker, identified as Edwin, has been arrested.


Coimbatore: In a disturbing incident in Ramanathapuram, Coimbatore, a woman was severely injured after being attacked with a blade due to a longtime feud. The victim, Tamilchelvi, aged 50, was on her way to work when Edwin, 60, from the same area, confronted and assaulted her.


Using a concealed blade, Edwin inflicted deep wounds on Tamilchelvi's neck and hands. She was rushed to Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment, where she is currently receiving medical care. Following the attack, a complaint was lodged at the Ramanathapuram Police Station. Sub Inspector Vasanth Kumar registered the case and promptly arrested Edwin. Charges have been filed against him under various sections including the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act.
