Siruthuli Leads Discussion on Decentralized Sewage Treatment Plant Installation in Vellakinar and Urumandampalayam

On May 6, 2024, Siruthuli convened a meeting with stakeholders to discuss the installation of Decentralized Sewage Treatment Plants in Vellakinar and Urumandampalayam, aimed at sustainable wastewater management.


Coimbatore: In a significant move towards sustainable urban development, Siruthuli organized a stakeholders' meeting on May 6, 2024, to discuss the installation of Decentralized Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) in Vellakinar and Urumandampalayam.

R S Krishnaswamy from the Steering Committee provided a thorough presentation on the scope and benefits of the proposed STPs, emphasizing their critical role in wastewater treatment.

Nithilesh from Apta Solvics also gave insights into the layout and operational functionalities of these plants. The meeting was attended by around 40 members, including officials from the Coimbatore Corporation, Pollution Control Board, and representatives from various local organizations and companies such as Viswanathan Constructions Pvt. Ltd, Elgi Equipments Ltd, and Martin Group of Companies. Stakeholders from the local community, such as residents of both areas, were active participants in the discussion.

During the interactive sessions, the attendees explored how the Decentralized-STPs could serve as a model for effective wastewater management across Coimbatore. The involvement of multiple stakeholders underscored the community's commitment to devising a feasible and environmentally-friendly solution to manage wastewater.
