Thudiyalur Police have on Tuesday arrested pastor P. Issac (50) on charges of sexually harassing a 22-year-old woman. The police have registered the case under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (outraging the modesty of woman through assault or criminal force).
The woman, a resident of Periyanaickenpalayam, had approached him complaining of severe stomach ache. He had told her that the pain could be cured through prayer and had harassed her, the police said. The woman immediately left the church and complained to the Hindu Munnani, which staged a protest in front of Issac’s prayer house and took up the issue with the police.
