Vanathi Srinivasan States Rs 1,000 Grant Only if DMK is Defeated in Parliamentary Elections

In a statement issued today, Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan claimed that all female household heads will only receive the Rs 1,000 grant if the DMK is defeated in the upcoming Parliamentary elections.

Coimbatore: Vanathi Srinivasan, MLA from Coimbatore South, has stirred political waters with her declaration that female heads of households will only be eligible for a promised Rs 1,000 monthly entitlement if the DMK fails to win in the upcoming Parliamentary elections. During the 2021 Assembly elections, the DMK pledged to grant a monthly sum of Rs 1,000 to all female heads of households across Tamil Nadu. However, two years into their governance, the DMK specified that only qualifying female heads of households would receive the entitlement. Consequently, over two million women were denied the same.

The MLA further criticized the DMK, stating that a DMK victory would permanently block the distribution of the entitlement to two million people. Srinivasan urged the voters of Tamil Nadu, especially women, to vote for the BJP alliance, emphasizing that a defeat for the DMK is the only way to ensure the Rs 1,000 entitlement for all.
