Coimbatore District Collector Announces Accepted Documents for Identity Verification at Polling Stations

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati has announced the list of documents that can be used for identity verification at polling stations on the forthcoming election day on April 19.


Coimbatore: District Election Officer and Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati has released a list of documents acceptable for identity verification at polling stations for the upcoming elections scheduled on April 19.

The authorized documents include:

1. Voter ID

2. Aadhaar Card

3. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) Job Card

4. Passbooks with photograph issued by Banks/Post Offices

5. Smart Health Insurance Card under the Central Government’s Ministry of Labour’s scheme

6. Driving License

7. Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card, issued by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment

8. Permanent Account Number (PAN) Card

9. Smart Card issued under the National Population Register

10. Indian Passport

11. Pension Document with photograph

12. Official Identity Cards for MPs/MLAs/MLCs

These documents are stated to be effective for proving voter identity during the voting process.
