Coimbatore to get a New World-Class Cricket Stadium: Minister TRB Rajaa

Coimbatore's vibrant sports scene is set for a significant upgrade with plans for a new world class International Cricket Stadium, focusing on net zero sustainability and supporting local talent. Minister TRB Rajaa has requested CM Stalin to do the honours.



Coimbatore: The sports landscape in Coimbatore, known for its passionate engagement with various sports, is poised for a groundbreaking enhancement. Recognizing the city's deep-rooted cricket fervor, reflected in its ownership of three TNPL teams and its nurturing of burgeoning cricket talents, a proposal for a new world-class Coimbatore International Cricket Stadium (CICS) has been put forward.

The initiative, spearheaded by enthusiasts and supported by the Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Udhayanidhi Stalin, aims to elevate Tamil Nadu and Coimbatore's sports infrastructure to unprecedented levels.

The envisioned cricket stadium is not just another addition to the state's sports facilities; it seeks to set a new global standard in sustainable sports infrastructure.

The proposed Coimbatore International Cricket Stadium is ambitiously planned to be the most sustainably built, state-of-the-art stadium in the world. With aspirations of achieving net-zero emissions, the project aims to bolster the local cricket ecosystem while serving as a model of green innovation, water conservation, and climate consciousness.

This significant sports infrastructure endeavor has been formally requested to be brought to fruition by the Chief Minister, MK Stalin. The proposed stadium is anticipated not only to nurture the rich sports talent in the region but also to establish a new global benchmark in sustainable sports infrastructure development.
