Cannabis Seized from Car in Saravanampatti, Coimbatore; Woman Under Investigation

In Saravanampatti, Coimbatore, the election flying squad seized 50 grams of cannabis from a car without a number plate on March 22. The driver, Swathi, a cinematographer from Chennai, is under investigation.


Coimbatore: During a routine check by the election flying squad in Saravanampatti on March 22, a Maruti car lacking a number plate was stopped for inspection. Upon searching the vehicle, 50 grams of cannabis were discovered inside.




The driver, identified as 27-year-old Swathi from Saravanampatti, revealed during the investigation that she works as a cinematographer in Chennai. She further explained that she had dropped a friend named Nisar at the Coimbatore airport, who might have inadvertently left the cannabis in her car.




The Saravanampatti police have registered a case and are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. The incident has brought to light the importance of vigilance and strict enforcement of law, especially with the ongoing election period.
