Coimbatore Collector Announces Application for LLR Through E-Service Centers

Coimbatore District Collector Gandhi Kumar Pati announced that applications for Learner's License Registration (LLR) can now be made through e-service centers, aiming to reduce unnecessary expenses and increase transparency for the public.

Coimbatore: In a significant move to streamline and enhance the process of obtaining a Learner's License Registration (LLR), the Coimbatore District Collector, Gandhi Kumar Pati, has announced on March 12 that applications for LLR can now be made through e-service centers across Tamil Nadu. This new initiative, under the guidance of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's directives and the guidance of the Transport Department Minister, aims to eliminate the need for driving schools, middlemen, and private browsing centers, which often lead to unnecessary expenses and a lack of transparency for the public.

With over 55,000 e-service centers across the state, applicants can now conveniently apply for their LLR near their residence, avoiding the hassle of traveling to distant cities for the service. This initiative not only brings the service closer to the public but also aims to address any grievances related to the application process effectively, ensuring a smoother and more transparent operation.

In Coimbatore District, residents can utilize this facility at nearby e-service centers to apply for their LLR, making the process more accessible and efficient. An additional service fee of Rs. 60 will be charged at these centers for availing of the service.

Furthermore, applicants can download the approved LLR as usual, and the initiative is expected to extend to other services offered by the Motor Vehicle Department, including Driving License Permit and ownership transfer, through e-service centers.

This measure is part of Tamil Nadu's efforts to improve public access to government services, reducing the dependency on intermediaries and making governance more direct and citizen-friendly.
