Minister Kayalvizhi Selvaraj Inaugurates New Scan Machine in Dharapuram

Minister Kayalvizhi Selvaraj launched a new scan machine at Ponnapuram Government Hospital near Dharapuram, funded by CSR funds from Indian Overseas Bank, enhancing healthcare services for the local community.


Coimbatore: In a significant healthcare development, Minister Kayalvizhi Selvaraj inaugurated a new scan machine at the Ponnaburam Government Hospital near Dharapuram, Tirupur District, marking a notable improvement in the medical facilities available to the local populace. The hospital, which sees a large number of patients daily, had a pressing need for an advanced scanning machine.

Responding to a request, Minister Kayalvizhi took the initiative to secure approximately ₹14 lakhs from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds of Indian Overseas Bank for the purchase of this essential medical equipment. This effort underscores the government's commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that critical medical services are accessible to all segments of society.

The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of significant local political and banking figures, including DMK Union Secretary SV Senthilkumar, Union Council Deputy Leader Sasikumar, Youth Brigade Organizer San Balu, officials from Indian Overseas Bank, and Dharapuram Regional Medical Officer Thenmozhi. The event was well attended by members of the local community, illustrating the widespread support and anticipation for the positive impact this scan machine is expected to have on public health services in the area.



This initiative not only enhances the diagnostic capabilities at Ponnapuram Government Hospital but also represents a step forward in the government's ongoing efforts to improve healthcare services across Tamil Nadu. The new scan machine will play a crucial role in diagnosing a variety of conditions more efficiently, thereby improving patient care and outcomes.
