"Let's Use Yellow Bags Again": Valparai Marches Against Plastic Under Municipal Leadership

In Valparai, a rally led by the Municipality Chairman emphasized the return to yellow bags and the reduction of plastic use, featuring ward members, college students, and a commitment to clean up the city.

Coimbatore: Valparai witnessed a significant rally on February 24, under the banner "Let's Use Yellow Bags Again, Eliminate Plastic," initiated by the Valparai Municipality. The march, led by the Municipal Chairman and the Vice-Chairman, saw the participation of ward members and college students, all advocating for a move away from plastic usage.

Starting from the Valparai Municipality Marriage Hall, the procession made its way through the main streets to the Valparai Post Office and then returned via the Health Medical Center. The participants, carrying banners, voiced a strong message against plastic use and pledged to undertake the yellow bag initiative, reinforcing that yellow bags are not a stigma but a symbol of environmental responsibility.

College students played a crucial role in the rally, emphasizing the importance of eradicating plastic to purify Valparai Municipality. The event marked a public commitment to reducing single-use plastic consumption and championing the use of traditional yellow bags, aiming to set an example for environmental conservation efforts.

The rally concluded with a collective affirmation to start the yellow bag initiative, a step towards making Valparai a cleaner and greener place to live. This initiative is part of a broader movement to promote sustainability and reduce the environmental impact of plastic waste.
