TASMAC Bar Employee Beaten to Death Over Theft Allegation - Four Arrested

In the Walayar area near K.K. Chavadi, Coimbatore, Inspector Krishnamurthy, Sub-Inspector Senthilkumar, and their team arrested Sathishkumar, Stanley, Kannan, and Annadurai on charges of murder of TASMAC employee.

Coimbatore: A tragic incident unfolded near K.K. Chavadi in Coimbatore, where a TASMAC bar employee was allegedly beaten to death over an accusation of theft. The bar, situated in the Valaiyar area, is operated by residents of KovaiPudur, Sathishkumar (31) and Stanley (33). Manikandan (35), from the nearby Navakkarai area, who worked at the bar, was the victim of this fatal assault.

On February 10, while on duty at the TASMAC bar, Manikandan was accused of stealing a customer's wallet that had been left behind. Despite returning the wallet when asked, the money inside was missing. This led to a confrontation initiated by the bar owners, Sathishkumar and Stanley, after reviewing CCTV footage which purportedly showed Manikandan taking the wallet.

Following the discovery, Manikandan was contacted by the owners and was seen fleeing from the scene when questioned about the missing money. He was subsequently chased down by Sathishkumar, Stanley, and two of their friends, Kannan (35) and Annadurai (32), and was caught in a palm grove along the Valaiyar Dam road. Reports suggest that Manikandan was severely beaten by the four, who then took him back to the bar and left him there.

Manikandan experienced sudden health complications the next morning and was rushed to a private hospital in Sundarapuram, where he succumbed to his injuries on February 12. Following a complaint from Manikandan’s relatives, the police launched an investigation. Under the orders of District Police Superintendent Badri Narayanan, Inspector Krishnamurthy, Sub-Inspector Senthilkumar, and their team arrested Sathishkumar, Stanley, Kannan, and Annadurai on charges of murder. The accused were presented in court and subsequently remanded to Coimbatore Central Jail.
