Security Fracas at Coimbatore Airport as Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin is Stopped

A commotion ensued at Coimbatore Airport when Central Industrial Security Force personnel only allowed Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin inside, sparking a verbal altercation with DMK supporters and accompanying officials.

Coimbatore: A notable incident unfolded at Coimbatore Airport, involving Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, which led to a stir among the DMK supporters and central security personnel.

After completing events in Erode District, Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin arrived at the airport to depart for Mumbai, where he was scheduled to attend further events. Upon his arrival, he was warmly received by an enthusiastic crowd of DMK supporters, leading to a bustling atmosphere.

However, the situation took a contentious turn when the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) allowed Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin to enter the airport premises but did not permit entry for Minister Muthusamy and district officials accompanying him.

This exclusion led to a heated exchange between the DMK supporters present and the CISF personnel, further escalating the tension at the airport.

The confrontation highlighted a moment of confusion among the CISF personnel regarding the identification of the minister and the protocols for allowing access to accompanying officials.

Following the altercation, Minister Muthusamy managed to facilitate Minister Stalin's passage into the airport, subsequently leaving the premises himself.

In response to media queries about the incident, Minister Muthusamy commented that there was a lapse in attention from the security personnel but also emphasized the importance of security measures, stating they did not consider the issue to be of significant concern due to the overarching priority of safety and security.
