Women Protest at Udumalai Tahsildar Office for Fair Distribution of Women's Rights Amount

Over a hundred women besieged the Udumalai Tahsildar office, alleging partiality in the distribution of women's rights amount in Pannaikinaru, Kozi Kuttai, and Mukkoodu Jallipatti villages of Tirupur district.

Coimbatore: Today, in a significant turn of events, over a hundred women surrounded the Udumalai Tahsildar's office near Tirupur, protesting alleged partiality in the distribution of the women's rights amount. This unrest has been brewing in the villages of Pannaikinaru, Kozi Kuttai, and Mukkoodu Jallipatti, with residents claiming ongoing bias in the allocation of funds meant for the poor and disadvantaged.

Despite multiple attempts to address these concerns with the local village administration and panchayat leaders, no satisfactory action was taken, leading to today's escalation. The women asserted that the funds, which should ideally reach the underprivileged, are instead being received by those who pay income tax, indicating a misallocation of resources.

The protesters demanded a thorough investigation by the authorities and fair distribution of the women's rights amount to the rightful beneficiaries. Following the protest, a petition was submitted to Tahsildar Sundar, who assured that an inspection would be conducted soon, and the aid would be appropriately distributed to the eligible individuals.

The women's stand at the Tahsildar office signifies a growing concern for fair and transparent governance at the grassroots level, highlighting the need for accountability in the distribution of government aid.
