It is unacceptable that just 1000 rupees are given to eligible women under the Women's Rights Programme - Premalatha Vijayakanth

DMDK treasurer Premalatha Vijayakanth recently addressed a press conference at Coimbatore airport about the women's rights programme. She spoke of the DMK's promise to provide Rs 1,000 per month to all women before the elections, and further mentioned that only eligible women would receive this benefit after winning.

Coimbatore: Premalatha Vijayakanth, Treasurer of the DMDK, addresses a press conference at Coimbatore Airport. It's a good thing to open a library, and it's even better if it's opened in all cities because it's a matter of knowledge.

As far as the women's rights programme is concerned, the DMK won the election by promising Rs 1,000 per month to all women before the elections. But it is condemnable to say that only eligible women will be given Rs 1,000 after winning. A good government is about fulfilling the promises made before the elections. Therefore, the DMDK's stand is that all women should be given Rs 1,000 per month as promised.

I am currently in Palakkad for my younger son's upcoming film puja. I've come to attend. Vijaya Prabhakaran's concert will be conducted on a grand scale for the first time in India on November 25 in Mumbai. The captain (Vijayakanth) is fine and good. He must meet the volunteers at crucial times.

The Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) is preparing for the Parliamentary elections. Our internal elections have concluded in all areas. The apex body will soon announce the next working committee general council. Thereafter, the leader will tour across Tamil Nadu and announce properly whether the party's growth will be followed by an alliance before the elections or not.

We will have to wait and see which alliance the people accept and whom they support. While we want everyone across India to come together, there are various differences within those parties (BJP). So in the end, people will have to wait and see which alliance they accept and who wins," he said.
