BJP members petition Tirupur SP and Collector seeking action on those attacking them

DMK has been accused of allegedly trying to kill a BJP functionary, Selvakumar, for trying to stop DMK workers who tried to block a long-standing sewage canal in Pongalur area under Avinashipalayam police station limits in Tirupur district using a JCB vehicle.


Tirupur: The BJP workers submitted a petition to the district superintendent of police and collector's office demanding action against those being subjected to continuous attacks and pressures on BJP workers in Tirupur district.



The DMK has been accused of allegedly trying to kill a BJP functionary, Selvakumar, for trying to stop DMK workers who tried to block a long-standing sewage canal in Pongalur area under Avinashipalayam police station limits in Tirupur district using a JCB vehicle.



Action has now been taken on a complaint lodged at the Avinasipalayam police station.



Similarly, BJP office-bearers Selvakumar, Segamalaiappan and Sampath Kumar were attacked by Communist Party of India (Marxist) activists at Bharathipuram in Iduvai village in South taluk.

The pressure and attacks on BJP workers in Tirupur district continue to increase. Urging the District Superintendent of Police and the District Collector to take steps to allay the fears of not being able to lead a smooth life, BJP members, led by district president Senthilvel, has lodged a complaint with the district superintendent of police's office and the collector's office.
