Sudden rains in and around Valparai - Water level in dams rises!

While the Sholayar dam area recorded 2 mm of rainfall due to the rains in the surrounding areas of Valparai, the inflow of water into the Sholaiyar dam was 37.27 cusecs per second.


Coimbatore: The water level in the dams in and around Valparai in Coimbatore district has risen considerably due to heavy rains.

It has been raining intermittently in and around Valparai in the last one week.



In this situation, Chinnakallar area recorded 12 mm of rain and Sholaiyar dam area recorded 2 mm of rain.



Accordingly, the quantity of water coming into the Sholaiyar dam is 37.27 cusecs per second.

The water level in the dam is 3143 cusecs and the water stock in the dam is 497 cusecs. The height of the dam is now 13.58 feet against 165 feet.
