Innova collides with electric pole near Coimbatore; Driver miraculously survives

The driver of the Innova vehicle who had dropped off the IT employees near Vilankurichi at around 5 am on Tuesday reportedly nodded off while driving which resulted in him losing control and crashing into a roadside electric pole.



Coimbatore: An Innova vehicle driver lost control and rammed into an electric pole near Vilankurichi in Coimbatore district, but miraculously survived the crash.

The driver had dropped off employees of an IT company and was returning when he lost control having nodded off while nearing Palekar Thottam bus stand on Vilankurichi Road near Coimbatore at around 5 am on Tuesday.



The driver rammed into an electric pole on the roadside which fell down, resulting in power lines being cut off. The driver of the Innova vehicle had a miraculous escape.



Casualties were averted since the accident took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning.



On information, employees of the Electricity Board reached the accident spot and began erecting an electric pole to restore new power lines.
