City Corporation officials evict encroachment with the help of police near Maniyakarkarampalayam

With the help of police, City Corporation officials removed the encroachment on public road space by evicting an unauthorised construction of gates on either side of the public road in Maniyakarampalayam area next to Ganapathy.



Coimbatore: According to authorities, the works for laying a drinking water pipeline on the road leading to Srinivasa Nagar in Maniyakarampalayam area next to Ganapathy has been recently taken up for exceution.



In this situation, officials led by Coimbatore Corporation Urban Development Officer Vimala have been engaged in the work of laying a drinking water pipeline at around 10 am yesterday.



It was then discovered that a unauthorised gate encroaching on the road space, which was constructed proved an obstruction for laying of pipe lines.



In this situation, the residents have objected to the laying of pipe lines through it.



Following which, a police team led by Saravanampatti police inspector Saravanan had been immediatep7 called to the spot and the eviction operation of the unauthorised construction was carried out with the help of JCB machine.



The owners said that they had sent a communication to the Municipal Commissioner and the Chief Minister's Special Cell and requested them to do the work after getting a reply.



Despite the protests by the owners of the unauthorised gates were evicted by officials.



Due to the operation, a tense situation prevailed in the area for some time.
