3 youth arrested for selling ganja in Coimbatore; 3 kg ganja seized

The police arrested the three youth who were involved in the sale of ganja in the hope of earning more money. They were nabbed near Thudiyalur in Coimbatore and 3 kg of ganja was seized from them.


COIMBATORE: The District Superintendent of Coimbatore district, V Badrinarayanan has ordered the police force to keep a watch and curb illegal activities like the sale of ganja and gutka across all areas in Coimbatore district.

The police received a tip-off that ganja was being sold at a residential area near KNG Pudur section next to Thudiyalur. Following this, the police started patrolling the area. At that time, three people who were standing there suspiciously were caught and interrogated. Since they gave contradictory answers to the queries, the police searched their two-wheeler and found that it contained ganja.

The police caught hold of the three men who tried to escape and interrogated them. The arrested have been identified as Ramnath (31) of Thudiyalur, Ram Vikash Kumar (30) of Kurudampalayam and Jayaprakash (30) of NGO Colony. During interrogation, it was revealed that they were engaged in the sale of ganja in residential areas as they wanted to earn more money by doing different tasks.

Following this, the police arrested the trio and produced them in court and sent them to jail. They also seized 3 kg of ganja and a two-wheeler from their possession.
