Led by BJP District General secretary Preeti Lakshmi, and more than 50 BJP women's wing members gathered at the protest and raised slogans against A Raja's visit.
They also accused Raja of constantly making derogatory remarks against the Hindu community and Hindu women.
Meanwhile, the police arrested the protestors and took them away as permission was not granted for the protest.
There was a tense atmosphere in the area for some time due to the protest by the BJP women's wing.
