Dravidian government is celebrating Vallalar but denying identity of thiruneer, the religious symbol of Tamils: Vanathi Srinivasan in Pollachi

MLA Vanathi Srinivasan personally inspected the arrangements made for the public to witness the inauguration of the Mahakaleeswarar temple inaugurated by the Prime Minister in Madhya Pradesh at the place where the Kodi Swamigal lived at Puravipalayam near Pollachi.

Coimbatore: Renovation work is underway at a cost of Rs 850 crore at the Maha Kaleeswarar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the upgraded complex, which was completed at a cost of Rs 351 crore in the first phase, and offered prayers at the temple.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had arranged for live telecast of the Prime Minister's inauguration of the Mahakaleeswarar temple complex at Shiva temples, mutts and jeeva samadhis across the country.

As part of this, Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan personally inspected the arrangements made for the public to witness the inauguration of Mahakaleeswarar temple at the place where Kodi Swamigal lived at Puravipalayam near Pollachi.

Speaking to reporters later, she said “it is condemnable that the state government is celebrating various festivals on the occasion of Vallalar's 200th birth anniversary and denying the important religious symbols like Thiruneer.

What is the desire of the DMK government to put up their pictures without such religious symbols?

Moreover, it is thiruneeru that is offered as prasadam in Vadalur. In such a situation, what is the happiness of the DMK government in putting up a picture of Vallalar without Thiruneeru? Why is the Dravidian government denying thiruneer, the symbol of Tamils?

The BJP government has not brought in official language. Ambedkar, the legal luminary who drafted the Constitution, and the committee associated with him decided about official language.

The BJP is saying that all the languages that exist in this country today are national languages. There are thousands of languages in this country alone. Anyone can learn whatever language they want.

In particular, teaching children in the mother tongue is the highlight of the new education policy. The ability to think will only increase if children learn in the mother tongue”
