Cobra snake captured near temple in Coimbatore's Singanallur

After an hour-long struggle, snake was caught by Sanjay who captured the 3-feet-long snake near Chellandi Amman Temple on Vellalore Road near Singanallur and released it into the reserve forest.


Coimbatore: The officials have urged that if public see a snake on roads or in residential areas, they should inform the forest department or snake catchers instead of beating them to death. As a testimony to the fact that this awareness has reached the people, the public who saw a good snake in Singanallur area of Coimbatore today did not harass it but informed the snake catcher and rescued it safely.

A 3-feet-long snake was lying near Chellandiamman Temple ground on Vellalore road behind Singanallur police station in Coimbatore. Seeing this, the people screamed and ran away from there.

Later, they informed Sanjay,a snake catcher, without harassing it.



Sanjay, who has experience in snake catching after receiving information, caught a good 3-foot-long snake after an hour's struggle.



Later, he took away the captured snake saying that he would safely release it in the reserve forest.

Snake catcher Sanjay told the people that it is wrong to hit or approach the snake if they see it anywhere and if they inform the snake catchers or the forest department, they will rescue the snake safely.

The public praised the snake catcher who caught a Cobra snake with heavy venom.
