Tiruppur: In a shocking incident, a married woman was gang-raped by three men while she was alone at home near Palladam.

Abdul Rahman (name changed), a native of Assam, works at a well-known tile manufacturing company in M Uthukuli area near Palladam in Tiruppur district. For the past 10 days, he has been staying with his 21-year-old wife at his home in the premises of the company where he works.

While Abdul Rahman had gone to work last night, his wife was alone in the house in the company's premises. Amarul Islam, Aneeb Ali and Ibrahim Ali, both labourers from Assam, who were working in the same company, barged into the house and sexually abused the woman who was all alone.

Following this, the woman shouted and the three of them allegedly fled from the spot. Co-workers informed the Palladam all-women police station about the incident.

Acting on the complaint, a police team led by women's police inspector Parveen Banu, who rushed to the spot, rescued the woman and admitted her to Palladam government hospital for examination and treatment.

Later, the doctors there gave the woman first aid treatment and took tests.

Based on the affected woman's statement, Palladam women's police registered a case and arrested Amarul Islam, Aneeb Ali and Ibrahim Ali for sexually harassing an Assamese woman who was alone in the house.
