ICCI Coimbatore to host one-day Agri Seminar 'Uzhave Thalai 4.0' on July 16

The seminar will highlight the importance of growing trees on agricultural lands.


Coimbatore: The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) in Coimbatore will host a one-day Agri Seminar called 'Uzhave Thalai 4.0' at Hindusthan College of Arts and Science on July 16 from 8.45 am to 6 pm. The seminar will highlight the importance of growing trees on agricultural lands.

An expert panel of speakers will throw light on important concepts like the Importance of growing trees on agricultural lands, Harvesting of coconut and other trees and The benefits and prosperity of tree harvesting and other related training during 'Uzhave Thalai 4.0.'

Dr. T N Balamohan, Former Dean, Horticultural College and Research Institute, Periyakulam will lead the session on 'Perennial Horticulture.' Dr. A Balasubramanian, Professor and Head, Department of Silviculture, Forest College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, Mettupalayam will lead the session on 'Timber Trees.'

Dr. Z John Kennedy, Professor and Head, Centre for Post Harvest Technology, Tamil Nadu Agriculture University will address the gathering during the seminar on 'Harvesting of Fruits and its Marketing.'

Dr. D Saravanan, Executive, Aranya Forest Sanctuary, Villupuram will address and explain about the importance of trees and how they are not a hindrance for agriculture.

N Mani Sundar, Organic farmer and Advisor for 'Uzhave Thalai' will advise on the Economic Concepts of Growing Trees,' while S Raman, Agriculturist expert will address the importance of growing trees which will help in more revenue and be beneficial.

The one-day seminar has been planned to help deal in depth critical areas which impact today's farming scenario, be it timber trees or perennial horticulture.

This will also help and create awareness among the next generation of agriculturists about the importance of trees, marketing, etc. in a scientific method.
