Over 40 victims swindled of large amounts of money in fake patta scam lodge complaint at Coimbatore City Police Commissioner's Office

The victims have lodged a complaint with the City Police Commissioner's Office regarding fraudsters who had issued them fake pattas for lands in the name of Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department.


Coimbatore: Victims who were swindled of millions of rupees for fake pattas have lodged a complaint with the Coimbatore City Commissioner of Police, V Balakrishnan.

Capitalising on the Government of Tamil Nadu's announcement to provide free housing to the downtrodden in the Vellalore area of Coimbatore, Vinod, Sarathamani, Mani and Manikandan from Sulur, who live in the Irugur Kamatchi Puram area in Coimbatore deceived the Adi Dravidar community. They swindled the locals in various places including Kavundampalayam, Gold Vince, Malumichampatti, Ondipudur, Avarampalayam and Siddhapudur and collected Rs.50,000, Rs.1 lakh and Rs.2 lakh from each person in the guise of allotting land on behalf of the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department.



Also, the fraudsters reportedly showed fake tokens with the photo of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M K Stalin, the logo of the Tamil Nadu Government and the name of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana scheme as proof of receipt of money.



Similarly, they issued fake pattas as if from the Adi Dravidar and Adi Dravidar Welfare Center.



Over 40 victims have finally lodged a complaint at the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner's office, on Friday and demanded that appropriate action should be taken against those who committed the fraud using the name of the State of Tamil Nadu. The victims have also demanded the arrest of the fraudsters for producing fake documents and swindling the money.
