Government bus collides into wall under Srinivasapuram railway bridge in Coimbatore's Pollachi-Meenkarai Road

Six people on the Government bus were injured and rushed to the Pollachi Government Hospital.


Coimbatore: A Government bus collided into a wall under the Srinivasapuram railway bridge on Pollachi-Meenkarai Road in Coimbatore.

The Government bus carrying passengers from Sarkarpathi to Pollachi was being driven by Suresh Kumar under the Srinivasapuram railway flyover when an oncoming lorry carrying cement from Trichy to Kerala via Pollachi tried to overtake.

The lorry was driven by Muhammad Salli. The bus collided with the wall of the bridge on the left side to avoid colliding with the oncoming lorry. Six people on the bus were injured and then rushed to the Pollachi Government Hospital by ambulance.



A major accident was averted due to the alertness of the driver who managed to avoid colliding with the lorry. The accident affected traffic on the Pollachi-Meenkarai Road for some time. The police then went to the accident spot to clear the bus and regulate traffic.
