100 beds with oxygen facility prepped up at Coimbatore GH to tackle another possible surge of Covid cases

The Coimbatore Government Hospital has prepped up 100 beds with oxygen facility to combat Covid in the event of another surge of cases. GH Dean, Dr. Nirmala states that more than 500 mucus samples are being tested daily.


Coimbatore: In what seems a possible Covid fourth wave, 55 people tested positive for Covid in Coimbatore district in one single day on Wednesday.

Therefore, precautionary measures are in full swing with orders being issued to increase beds with oxygen facilities in Government hospitals, again.

Coimbatore Government Hospital Dean, Dr. Nirmala stated that 100 beds with oxygen facilities have been prepped up at the Coimbatore Government Hospital and more than 500 individuals' daily mucus samples are being tested. In addition, as per the instructions of the Government of Tamil Nadu to prevent the spread of Covid infection, social distancing in public places has been made mandatory. Coimbatore Government Hospital Dean, Dr. Nirmala advised the public to always wear a face mask and sanitise hands frequently.

From June 24, it has been mandatory throughout Tamil Nadu that those working in offices must compulsorily wear a face mask and have been advised to stay clean and hygienic in the office premises, as per the announcement made by the Under Secretary of State, S Anu.
