Geetha has been doing yoga asanas for two hours floating in the water to create awareness of the benefits of Yoga.

Coimbatore: The public in Pollachi lauded a young woman who has been training in practising yoga floating in the water to create a Guinness record. Geetha is the wife of Manoj Kumar who hails from Makkinampatti Gopal Nagar in Pollachi. The couple has a two-year-old son Sai Pranav.

Geetha has been practicing swimming and yoga since she was a child. She believes that practicing yoga floating in the water will keep the body and mind healthy. She also opines that women in particular can be refreshed by practicing yoga after childbirth.

Therefore, in order to create awareness among the general public that everyone should practice yoga, Geetha has been floating in the water for two hours doing various yoga asanas.

"I have been practicing yoga for the last eight years and feel that practising yoga in the water will ensure smooth blood flow and there will be no physical pain since the body heals itself and the mind stays in a state where the body is healthy. So, I have been doing yoga asanas for two hours, floating in the water so that all the people can realize the benefits of yoga," stated Geetha.

She is currently training and aims to create a Guinness Record in practising yoga while floating in the water for 24 hours. Locals in her neighbourhood are highly appreciative of this initiative of the young Geetha.
