Coimbatore: Petition at the district collectorate that taxi drivers in Ooty don’t let taxis from a taxi chain in Coimbatore function in Ooty

Private taxi drivers (Red Taxi) from Coimbatore have filed a petition with the Coimbatore District Collectorate stating that taxi drivers from Ooty don’t let them operate when their vehicles go to Ooty and that there have been incidents where they have even gone as far as to damage their vehicles.

Commenting on this, they said “The public from various districts and states coming to Coimbatore often register for the entire trip from Coimbatore itself. Passengers cannot be dropped off halfway. However, the local taxi drivers from Ooty often detain us in Burliar, engage in trash-talking us, and some even attempt to attack us.”

Therefore, they asked the district collector to take appropriate action.
