₹44.17 crores worth education loan distributed at Education Loan Mela held in Coimbatore

Minister Senthil Balaji, District Collector GS Sameeran, Commissioner of the Corporation, and many others including top bank officials were present on the occasion.

Coimbatore: The Education Loan Ceremony was held at the CODISSIA campus in Coimbatore by the leading banks.

Minister Senthil Balaji, District Collector GS Sameeran, Commissioner of the Corporation, and many others including top bank officials were present on the occasion.

Attending the event, Minister Senthil Balaji presented education loans worth Rs 44.17 crore to students.

Speaking on the occasion, District Collector GS Sameeran said “Banks should be proactive in thinking that they can prepare a loan even overnight. It seems that banks are not giving loans to students for reasons like CIBIL score due to a few technical issues. Their father or parents get any other loan and their son or daughter suffers the consequence due to its impact and their debt balance.

The important thing to note here is that the father must know that the son or daughter can only mortgage the qualification of education for the loan. How many educational institutions are there in the Coimbatore district? I insisted you give ₹350 crores compulsory education loan in our district. It has been approved by all the banks in support. I heartily appreciate this.

We have given 44.17 crore rupees today as a precursor to becoming the highest education loan-giving district in Tamil Nadu in this financial year. We have prepared a plan to lend Rs.100 crore on another big platform. As per the advice of the Minister, we have agreed to pay Rs.350 crore and you have agreed to give Rs.100 crore.

Therefore, all bank managers must maintain my dignity, you can definitely work if you dare. If you act diligently you can achieve the goal for our district. If you agree to give 100 crores as I said, we can even request the chief minister to be present for the occasion.

So everyone should act diligently as this will be a huge help to the future life of the student.

You know how big a help this can be in everyone's life. This loan we can give is like the starter of a vehicle. They can put petrol in, and they can drive that vehicle but this education loan is just like the starter needed to start it. All banks should work diligently for this.”
