Head-on collision between 2 two-wheelers injures three youth on Pollachi-Palakkad Road

Youth rides recklessly on a one-way causing a two-wheeler collision in the Pollachi-Palakkad Road – 3 severely injured


Coimbatore: Manikandan (24) who lives in the Ganesha Temple Road area in Pollachi is employed at a private company.

While on his way to work on his two-wheeler, on the Pollachi-Palakkad Road, Manikandan collided head-on with a two-wheeler near the Pollachi Municipal Office which was a one-way road.



Manikandan, Karthik (22) from Kumaran Nagar and Srinivasan (22) the pillion rider, were all thrown off their respective vehicles following the collision.



Manikandan’s vehicle, which was also off-balance, ended up getting stuck under the wheel of the bus that was behind his two-wheeler.

Bystanders rushed to the aid of the injured and all three men were rescued and rushed to two different hospitals. Manikandan, who was critically injured was sent to the Coimbatore Government Hospital, while the other two were sent to the Pollachi Government Hospital to get treated for their injuries.

Manikandan's relative Karuppusamy lodged a complaint regarding the accident. The police are interrogating Karthik who is reportedly the cause for the accident due to carelessly riding his two-wheeler on a one-way road.
