Coimbatore District Swadesi Traders Welfare Association petition Dist. Collector

The trade unions have condemned the authorities' action against small traders under the pretext of eliminating polythene covers.


Coimbatore: A petition has been filed in the Coimbatore District Collectorate on behalf of the Coimbatore District Swadesi Traders Welfare Association.



The petition was filed by Manikandan, the President of the Chamber of Commerce. The petition stated that small traders were being severely affected by the Government officials' inspections under the pretext of elimination of polythene covers in Coimbatore district and that action should first be taken against companies that manufacture polythene covers.



The trade union members also demanded that action be taken to stop polythene products within state borders to curb the production of polythene covers and to create awareness.
